Thomas Buchwalder took the decision to become a professional photographer in spring 1997, after he returned from a road trip to the United States.

Only one year later, he won his first prize at the national contest «Jugend & Kunst 1998» and attracted widespread attention from the art and photographer community. Within a couple of years, he became one of the top addresses for advertising, people and celebrity photography in Switzerland and around the world. Meanwhile his portfolio contains international superstars like Jessie-J, Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kostner, Adriana Lima, Irina Shayk, Nelly Furtado, Roger Federer and many more.

The Swiss born photographer is also well respected for his work in the commercial sector and is best known for fully accomodating their customers requests and his sense of professionalism. That is the reason why top brands such as BMW, Coca-Cola, MaxFactor, Microsoft, Maurice Lacroix, Nivea and Credit Suisse are working with him on a regular basis. Thomas Buchwalder’s personal passion is to work with people, cars and he loves watches.

In the national media landscape he is a well-known face and is often consulted as an expert for fashion photography. He works as a contributor for the Swiss people magazine «Schweizer Illustrierte» and since 9 seasons he is the main photographer in the TV-show «Faces Studio».
